HR Operations Lead

As the HR Operations Lead you will be responsible for HR operational delivery in Croatia, while also providing cross-border support across Eastern European and new markets. This role will drive employee relations case management, enhance HR processes, and ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality HR services across the region.
You will work closely with local stakeholders, regional HR colleagues, and business leaders to ensure alignment with local employment legislation and our global people strategy. We are seeking an individual with a proactive and experienced approach who will have a passion to optimise our HR operational delivery using technology with a focus on employee experience.
What you’ll be doing:
Regional HR Operations
- Manage and coordinate HR operations across Croatia and selected Eastern European markets (e.g., Slovakia, Serbia, and Poland).
- Act as the regional point of contact for escalated employee lifecycle queries, policy guidance, and general queries.
- Support in new market set up with legal entities
- Acting as a key part of the team for onboarding, contract administration and payroll and any key parts during the employee life cycle.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Lead on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance cases, and investigations.
- Ensure adherence to local employment laws and internal policies, partnering with legal and external advisors as needed.
- Partner with People Partners to train and support managers in best-practice employee relations approaches.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of HR processes (onboarding, exits, policy documentation, etc.).
- Collaborate with global HR Ops and Centres of Excellence (COEs) to align local processes with global standards.
Data, Systems & Reporting
- Accurate maintenance of employee data in HR systems SuccessFactors
- Review opportunities to improve process and ways of working through technology and automation.
- Partner with HR Data and Technology team to support with improvements
- Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and audit-readiness of employee records and documentation.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build strong relationships with local HR teams, People Partners, Payroll, Legal, and Finance.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors such as legal advisors, payroll providers, and consultants.
We are looking for someone who :
- Has 5+ years’ HR experience, with at least 3 in a regional HR operations or employee relations role.
- Has in-depth knowledge of Croatian labor law and working knowledge of legislation in other Eastern European countries.
- Has strong experience in employee relations case management and resolution.
- Has proven ability to lead or contribute to process improvement projects and HR transformation.
- Has proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Has fluency in Croatian and English; additional Eastern European languages are a plus.
- Has excellent interpersonal, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Has the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and changing environment.
